Hi, I’m Alex Harvey, owner / operator of Better Trees Bay of Plenty.

I studied Arboriculture at Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin, gaining the Level 4 certificate making me a certified Arborist.

I worked and grew my skills with different companies all over New Zealand, then furthered my craft in Australia for several years. 

I came back to Tauranga in 2020 to start work here, and now we have a team of 3 fully qualified Arborists, plus several other staff as well. 

 

If your property has large, mature trees in awkward places that need to be removed, that is our speciality.

If you need maintenance of your trees, orchard, or overgrown back section, and want to ensure continuing tree health, that is exactly what we take pride in and can provide you with our expert tree services.

Better Trees are based in the Western Bay of Plenty. We mostly serve Papamoa and Te Puke, but we travel more widely too.  If you need professional work, that is tidy and safe, call us.

Alex is a master at what he and the team do. Careful attention to detail and they actually listen to preferences and provide well informed recommendations. Have used them twice now over the past year and can't imagine going with anyone else. Top notch!

Alex and his team are the best Arborists in the Bay of Plenty. I am so impressed with their work ethic and knowledge, as well as incredible skill working with trees, making sure nothing is damaged, and leaving the place very clean and tidy. A+++ highly recommend

Thanks to Alex, Wayne and Daniel for a great, professional job felling our cherry tree that was becoming too large and dangerous. Sad to see it go. And also to the team for pruning several other trees on our section and cleaning up so well afterwards. Alex split some branches for firewood for us and also liaised with Josh Wright who took three large pieces of the tree for milling. They even made the stump into a kids table with steps cut in for the grandkids to climb it! We are so glad we found Alex and his crew.

I have used Alex on several occasions now. He is an extremely knowledgeable arborist and offers a very professional service.
